I photograph the moments that cities try to forget — the man asleep under transmission towers, the light that falls wrong on a Soviet apartment block, the street vendor whose face has been worn smooth by the same gesture ten thousand times. I am not looking for beauty. I am looking for the thing that stays after everything else has moved on.
